Welcome to Powder River Prep! I’m Lisa McQueen, and it has been my pleasure to be a teacher for over 25 years, both in homeschool and public school settings, covering PreK-12th grade. I began my career in a multi-age classroom where I fell in love with individualized and small group instruction for its vast superiority. Having a passion for the Lord, one-on-one teaching, and the flexibility to meet my students’ needs, while opening the door to the world of learning, not only lights my fire but also my students’ as I can offer lessons that are personally engaging and spur students to succeed. Digging deeper, I also enjoy family time, leading book studies, DIY projects, cooking, and outdoor activities such as flower gardening..
Hi! I’m Bree Uresk, a certified K-6 and preschool teacher with over 10 years of experience. I am also LETRS certified and conscious discipline trained. When I’m not in the classroom, I love spending time with my family and making memories at the lake or cheering my three children on in their activities. As a fifth-generation beekeeper, I’m proud of my Wyoming roots and the tradition of beekeeping that has been passed down through the generations. I’m excited to bring my experience and love for learning to Powder River Prep!
Hello! My name is Lauren McCoy and I am a certified elementary teacher. I have taught multiple grade levels over the last ten years and also served as the reading and math interventionist for Kindergarten through 5th grade students. I am a firm believer in connecting students with learning material in meaningful ways through experiential, hands-on engagement. Outside of the classroom, I am discovering the great joy of becoming a first-time mom. Our family loves to adventure around and experience all the fun our beautiful state has to offer. I am a voracious reader, so I can often be found settled in with a good book; a trait I hope to pass on to every child I interact with. I look forward to sharing my passion for learning with everyone at Powder River Prep!
